"When you let go of who you are, you become who you might be." -Rumi
Rhea knows the power of connection and community because of her upbringing in a collective society in Zambia. Until, she became a mother the need for community and sisterhood was so important. With the support of strong women from her midwives, doula, and her mom on her birthing journey she realized that this is the kind of sisterhood and community she wanted to build for herself and her children, but it was missing. Motherhood brought about a myriad of emotions and one of them was being isolated and she didn’t feel supported within her community.
She has birthed mama circles as a gathering space for all mothers of ages and stages for reflection, inspiration, and conversation. Storytelling is a big part of her life growing up and returning to circle will honor our spirits, hearts, and relish in the collective wisdom of the women who gather. The power of storytelling in circle we’ll sit with what is, speak our truths, and allow ourselves to be vulnerable and be seen, heard, and understood.
