Embracing the Four Elements in Nature

The elements of air, fire, water and earth are powerful guides in how to live our lives in alignment with nature, to live within the cycles.

The element of air represents the mental body.

The element of fire represents the energetic body.

The element of water represents the emotional body.

The element of earth represents the physical body.

When we take the time to slow down and look deep inside and be aware of how we feel, what arises in us, we grow and we gain more wisdom.

Today was a beautiful day to experience all the elements out in nature, it was very healing! It was a very rainy and windy day. I was itching to go outside for a walk, so during a break in the rain I went to one of my favorite spots. I experienced all the elements very intensely during my walk. It was really windy and it felt so good that I couldn’t even think of anything; I could just hear the wind blowing in my ears so strong, healing and relaxing! It cleared my mind.  It made me smile like a little kid. Then the sun peeked through a little bit and I felt the warmth on my face, which then expanded throughout my body. Not only did I feel the warmth, but I also felt the light and the energy inside me.

As I continued on my walk, I came to my favorite tree, where I sat on its branches and cocooned myself in it as I always do. I infused my being with the essence of earth, sitting on my tree, I felt rooted, safe and protected. As I came down from the tree to continue my walk, the rain came down again. I looked up at the sky and I let the rain fall on my face, washing things away.

My spirit animal — my hummingbird — then showed up as it always does! At that moment, I shed tears because I have never truly felt connected to my parents in the way that I feel deeply rooted and connected to the elements and nature. I am of earth, Mother Earth and Father sky! And I love that!
